This 15-acre organic farm, located in Hotchkiss, Colorado, grows a wide array of specialty crops. As the land provider for the solar installation, Thistle Whistle Farm integrates agriculture beneath the solar panels, fostering a dual-use approach that combines crop production with renewable energy generation.
Colorado State University Extension Program for Agriculture


Through research collaboration, CSU Extension will examine how solar shading impacts crop health, soil moisture, and productivity, positioning the project as a model for co-locating agriculture and renewable energy in arid regions.
Mirasol Agrivoltaic


Mirasol Agrivoltaic, a nonprofit, oversees subscriber benefits and engages in community outreach, prioritizing low-to-moderate-income households. By administering the community solar program, Mirasol strengthens renewable energy access and educational opportunities, partnering with local organizations to support equitable access to solar energy.
